What a party Tefaf Maastricht was this year! Imagine beautiful flowers, smooth carpets, and the crème de la crème of art. Even from the ceiling the artworks were looking down on the international mix of visitors.

The Birds were created by Magdalena when she was 67 years young. She died last year at the age of 87 and was a remarkable artist. Growing up in Polen in a aristocratic family, she spended a lot of time in the mystic ambiance of the woods and developed a fascination for animals. Then WOII came and interrupted this fairytale. Living in poverty after the war she recycled the threads of jute sacks to create. It became the signature of her oeuvre.
